THURSDAY TRIVIA
- this is just something to pass the time until weekend arrives

Kyle Busch and winning from the pole.

Kyle Busch became the first driver to win from the pole at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this
weekend.   Now every track on the 2009 schedule has had at least one race winner that
started on the pole.
But the little known fact is that Kyle Busch’s win was the 500th
time in NASCAR CUP history that a driver has started first and finished first
(Curtis
Turner was the first driver to do so in 1950).

Now some Thursday Trivia about winning from the pole:

Q1: Kyle Busch won Las Vegas from the pole position.   How many times has he done that
in his short career?

Q2: Richard Petty has won a race from the pole 61 times.   Who are the top 4 after him?

Q3: Who are the leading active drivers in wins from the pole position?

Q4: With Kyle Busch’s win at Vegas, the streak continues in which a driver has won a race
from the pole in every year since 1950.   Which year produced the fewest race winners
from the pole?

Q5: Which season has recorded the most wins from the pole?

Q6: What is the modern era record (1972 to current)?

Q7:  Which driver won 5 times from the pole position in 2008?  The first time a driver has
won from the pole 5 times in a season in 23 years.

Q8: Which current driver has the longest losing streak from the pole position?  His streak is
the modern era record.

Q9: Which track has scored the most winners from the pole?

Q10: Kyle Busch is the second driver to win from the pole in a #18 car.   Who was the
other?

Q11. What car number have all 3 Petty’s taken to victory lane from the pole?

Q12: Which car number has the most different drivers to win from the pole?
