The six unique track types are defined below

There are 6 different track types on the circuit. The split between categories is
listed below.
HF – High banked Fast tracks – Las Vegas (formerly an L track), Atlanta, Texas,
Fontana, Charlotte, Michigan, Chicago, Kansas and Homestead. Tracks that are 1 mile or
longer in length, with 14 or more degrees of banking in the turns and a pole speed of >175
mph.
HS – High banked Slow tracks – Darlington, Dover and Rockingham. Tracks that are
1 mile or longer in length, with 14 or more degrees of banking in the turns and a pole speed
of <175 mph.
L – Low banked tracks – Pocono, New Hampshire, Indianapolis and Phoenix. Tracks
that have <14 degrees of banking in the turns and are 1 mile or longer in length.
RC – Road Course tracks – Infineon and Watkins Glen. Tracks where the driver can
turn right.
RP – Restrictor Plate tracks – Daytona and Talladega. Tracks where the engines
used have restrictor plates.
S – Short tracks – Bristol, Martinsville and Richmond. Tracks that are less than 1 mile in
length.
